PowerShell Script Club - September 1st

The next meeting of the AZPOSH User Group will take place Wednesday, September 1st, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Interface Technical Training in downtown Phoenix. This month we'll be doing a script club style meeting!

What is a Script Club?

It's basically like a hands on lab, but there is no set topic. You can bring an idea for a script, or come with a problem you've been trying to solve and we'll sort it out as a group.

What are the rules of Script Club?

  1. You Always Talk About Script club
  2. You Always Talk About Script Club
  3. If Someone asks for Help, And You Can Help, You Help
  4. Two People Help One Person at One Time
  5. One Module Per Person Per Night
  6. All Scripts, All PowerShell
  7. Scripts will be as short as they can be
  8. If This is your First time at Script Club, You Have to Script

What about free stuff?

Yes, we'll have free pizza and sodas!

Do I have to be a PowerShell expert to come to Script Club?

No way! We encourage PowerShell users of any skill level (from newbie to expert and everything inbetween) to attend!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We hope to see you next week!

June 2nd AZPOSH Meeting Follow Up

Last Wednesday was the third meeting of the Arizona PowerShell (AZPOSH) User Group at Interface Technical Training in downtown Phoenix. There was plenty of free pizza to go around!

We'd like to thank Idera for providing copies of PowerShell Plus as door prizes. We held a drawing and used the Get-Random cmdlet to pick the three lucky winners.

After a quick demo of PowerShell Plus from Idera, Mike Pfeiffer spoke about PowerShell functions. We looked at function fundementals, talked about some best practices and had some good Q and A during the session. You can download the slides and demo scripts here.

If you have not done so already, please sign up and join the group at PowerShellGroup.org to receive meeting updates. Next month, we'll be giving away some free PowerShell books, compliments of O'Reilly Media. We will be posting an agenda with next months speaker(s) soon. Plan on joining us in July for some free pizza and PowerShell goodness!
