AZPOSH User Group Meeting Details for April 6th 2011

Hello everyone! The next AZPOSH User Group meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Interface Technical Training in downtown Phoenix. This meeting will also be broadcast live on the internet using Interface Technical Training’s RemoteLive™ technology. Please RSVP for the meeting to secure a spot using RemoteLive™ and we’ll send you the connection details prior to the meeting. Here’s what we have planned for April:

Script Challenge

We will be announcing the winners of the Enter the Shell script challenge. Winners will receive free passes to the June 14th Tech Immersion 2011 Conference here in Phoenix. Please email your solution(s) to azposh@hotmail.com by March 21st.

PowerShell Advanced Functions

Jason Helmick will demonstrate how to build PowerShell advanced functions that you can use to create your own script cmdlets. Topics will include adding parameters and attributes, pipeline processing, and comment based help.

PowerShell Scripting with the Exchange Web Services Managed API

Mike Pfeiffer will show us how to utilize the EWS Managed API using PowerShell. We’ll expand on the topic of advanced functions and build script cmdlets using this API to access email items in an Exchange mailbox, send and receive messages, analyze message headers, and more.

Big News for the May 4th Meeting!

We are honored to announce that Don Jones, PowerShell MVP, author, teacher, and super guru will be presenting in Phoenix at the Arizona PowerShell User Group meeting. Don Jones is the industry expert when it comes to learning and using PowerShell, and he is the author of the upcoming book titled Learn Windows PowerShell in a Month of Lunches.

Due to the expected high turnout, special RSVP for RemoteLive™ and local attendance will be required for this meeting. We’ll post more details prior to the May meeting.

As always, we’ll have free sodas and pizza available at the April meeting, and we encourage PowerShell users of any skill level to attend. We hope to see you there!
