The next meeting of the AZPOSH User Group will take place Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Interface Technical Training in downtown Phoenix. This month we’ll be discussing the following topics:
Getting Help – The first step to mastering PowerShell is becoming an expert in the help system. We’ll cover the basics on how to get command help and view conceptual help topics in PowerShell. We’ll also go over some advanced techniques for getting help that are sure to impress your friends!
PowerShell Profiles – Learn how to setup a profile to customize your PowerShell environment each time you start the shell. We look at how profiles work, how to load scripts and functions from your profile, and more.
PowerShell Modules – Modules are a new feature in PowerShell v2. We’ll cover the basics on using the built-in modules included with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2. We’ll also discuss how you can use modules to write your on reusable libraries purely in PowerShell script.
As always, we’ll have free sodas and pizza available and we encourage PowerShell users of any skill level to attend.
Now, for some big news…The Arizona SharePoint Professionals Group (AZSPG) will also be meeting on the first Wednesday of every month from 6 PM to 8 PM at Interface just like the AZPOSH group. If you haven’t heard, Sharepoint 2010 can now be completely managed with PowerShell. If you are a Sharepoint and PowerShell person, the first Wednesday night of every month will be a good night for you to come out to Interface!
